The majority of German hardwood lumber producers still have no urgent need to conclude contracts for log deliveries. No lead agreements appear to have been made yet either. The sawmills’ reluctance is due to a variety of reasons. Some businesses report having log reserves that will last until the end of the year. Others have scarcely any logs left at all but do not want or are not able to conclude any concrete delivery transactions yet due to a shortage of cash and a lack of security in planning. |
