Hunters can access timberlands
2006/11/6

Forest landowners Pacific West Timber Company/The Campbell Group and Giustina Resources have entered into an agreement with the Oregon Hunter's Association (OHA) to provide weekend public hunting access to their private timberlands in the Wiley Creek drainage located southeast of Sweet Home. Access to the properties is granted for the 2006 regular deer and elk rifle seasons which started Sept. 30 and run through Oct. 29.

OHA volunteers will issue access permits at the Wiley Creek 200 Mainline gate, which will be the only point of vehicle entry. During the weekdays, the timberlands will be closed to the public. This cooperative agreement between the three parties is a commitment by the landowners and OHA to provide quality hunting opportunities to the general public while protecting the timberlands from illegal garbage dumping, theft, vandalism and wildfires.

For further information, contact Mike Brown, Oregon Hunter's Association, (541) 619-1821; Deborah Kovak, Pacific West Timber Company/The Campbell Group, (541) 393-0035; or Rachel Williams, Giustina Resources (541) 485-1500.
